Manage the Industrial Engineering function to support the entire operation in continually striving for improvements in productivity, customer service, quality and production capacity and flexibility whilst introducing the concepts and goals of the Schneider Production System. Continually ensuring that the company strictly adheres to the Health and Safety Legislation and maintains its ISO 14001 accreditation.
Key responsibilities / activities:
Manage and develop the department of Industrial Engineers by means of training, coaching and mentoring the individuals.
Lead large Industrial projects ensuring that the project deliverables are respected in terms of time, cost and content (industrial excellence, outsourcing projects).
To provide and efficient Industrial Engineering service to the Leeds site.
Assist in the management of capital investments, validating proposed savings and ensuring any new H&S or Environmental legislation is considered.
To manage the industrialisation of new or existing products or process changes.
Manage application of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques (industrial excellence / lean manufacturing).
Manage the construction and infrastructure aspects of any building work necessary to effect assembly / manufacturing process transfer or achieve Lean manufacturing objectives.
Ensure that work centre information held on the manufacturing system is regularly reviewed and updated
Ensure that Quality Assurance procedures and manuals (ISO9001) are maintained and operated in line with the relevant guidelines.
Education:
Essential - HNC / Degree in Engineering
Experience:
Extensive understanding of general mechanical / production engineering principals, systems and machine operation.
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing.
