GE Global Operations is undergoing significant organizational change as we transfer enabling functions and processes from the various GE businesses and broaden our scope in line with the Company’s global enterprise standards. The Project Manager will provide program management direction and oversight, as well as facilitate the execution of all growth, migration and simplification projects in the region.
Essential Responsibilities • Enable new business set-up and growth through expanding shared services offerings to new legal and management entities in the GO MENAT SSA region
• Enable and ensure operations excellence and governance
• Drive process simplification and standardization through lean and six sigma methodologies
• Evaluate and support execution of regional delivery model for the broader Global Operations shared services model
• Execute projects driving metric improvements and enterprise standard processes
• Facilitate the execution of growth initiatives and governance programs around the region. Manage program level stakeholder reporting as well as the overall governance rhythm and the communication strategy.
• Ensure adherence to the project management methodology. Manage tollgate review process.
• Create transparency for projects pipeline and program aligned to the role. Provide strategic inputs on waving and sequencing plan to facilitate planning for program level dependencies and risks.
• Be a broad-based member of the PMO, contributing beyond immediate responsibilities.
o Operate constructively within a matrix organization, ultimately driving aligned and clear expectations for the organization.
o Retain an external focus outside immediate role to remain current on industry and shared services trends.
• Serve as key liaison on all regional PMO maters for the Global PMO team and regional GO leadership team. Share best practices between regional centers.
Qualifications/Requirements • Experience managing complex, multi-faceted projects;
• Excellent influencing and relationship management skills
• Excellent communication & presentation skills, including fluency in English
• Finance shared services experience, or as a minimum a solid understanding of shared services dynamics
• Strong ownership & accountability, with a proven track record of execution
• Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills. Effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions.
• Anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans
• Strategic thinker; proven ability to anticipate, and resolve complicated issues.
• Ability to build regulatory & compliance requirements into project requirements
• Budget & resource management skills
• Cultural awareness & sensitivity: ability to flex style to suit differing cultural norms and experience of leading a culturally diverse team
• Good understanding of core Finance operational processes
• Willingness to travel as required
Desired Characteristics • Operations management experience: Lean, Six Sigma, PMP certified
• Prior GE experience and exposure, ideally including functional leadership roles in other GE businesses
• FMP, OMLP or CAS graduate (GE internal)
