Securities Senior Officer Job at Barclays Egypt

Job description

  • Monitor and control the customer’s securities against granted facilities and ensure that all securities are in place to safeguard our bank’s position.
  • Ensure that all securities are in order as per FLAM / Credit approval & confirm to mark limits.
  • Prepare facility letter, securities documentation and contracts as per FLAM (credit approval) for Large Corporate, Corporate finance, Multinational, Public sector, BBS, Business Banking, SME’s & Local Business customers.
  • Responsible to check borrowing documents when obtaining it from the customer (commercial register, etc,..).
  • Assist the line manager in order to meet his/her objectives in reviewing and checking securities & documents of Large Corporate, Corporate finance, Multinational, Public sector, BBS, Business Banking, SME’s & Local Business customers.
  • Ensure that all original securities are filed locked away in the proofed filling rooms.
  • A named point of contact for customers in the securities dealing with serving requirements and handling any calls in the absence of the line manager.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the securities register and associate diary.
  • Maximize sustainable risk awareness portfolio contribution to the business.
  • Review and perfect required securities as per Flam such as insurance policies, Mortgages, guarantees and gross Borders.
  • Update and maintence of Securities system.
Main accountabilities and approximate time split
Time Split: 40 %
  • Providing world class service to Large Corporate, Corporate finance,
  • Multinational, Public sector, BBS, Business Banking, SME’s customers as per agreed SLA’s.
  • Handle customers routine inquiries regarding the securities.
  • Monitor service level agreement with the stakeholders.
  • Maintain close working relationship with service providers.
Time Split: 50 %
  • Control & check validity of existing securities for Large Corporate, Corporate finance, Multinational, Public sector, BBS, Business Banking, SME’s & Local
  • Business customers at annual review.
  • Responsible for implementing the Central Bank of Egypt regulation and the Egyptian law.
  • Monitor and control quality of portfolio regarding the corporate & business banking securities documentation in accordance with Barclay’s guidelines and policy.
  • Prepare facility letter & borrowing contracts for Corporate Customer (Large Corporate, Corporate finance, Multinational, Public sector, BBS, Business Banking, SME’s & Local Business customers).
  • Complete & Review the borrowing documents when obtaining it from the customer (commercial register, etc,…).
  • Prepare the securities / contracts and all other documents related to the facilities as per Flam (credit approval).
  • Check securities documentation and contracts as per Flam (credit approval) and ensure that they are in place after customer sign off.
  • Responsible to follow up the renewal of the securities on a monthly basis.
  • Upload facility letters, contracts & securities on Securities Management automation systems.
  • Monitor Securities Management automation systems.
  • Checking the commercial register of the customers before renewing the securities and drawdown of facilities.
  • Be familiar with all Barclays Egypt products in order to guide customer accordingly.
  • Responsible to maintain the securities registers and associate diary.
  • Issue securities certificate to RCU to mark limits / release funds.
  • Regular updates and conclusive chasers for outstanding matters to the Corporate and Risk.
  • Maintain high level of customer service standards by monitoring SLA.
  • Attend all meetings relevant to the job and to report on issues affecting performance.
  • Responsible to maintain securities files & safe custody.
  • Keep all originals of securities issued in favour of Barclays Egypt after verifying their authenticity with the credit approval and follow up their renewals.
  • Take responsibility for routine duties on prorate basis with other members of the Securities Management team, this includes administration such as holiday lists returns inter departments meetings etc..
  • Participate in enhancement and development of the work flow process related to Lending E2E.
  • Responsible to handle the insurance policies and coordinate with the RM to perfect it.

Technical skills / Competencies
  • Interpersonal skills – Strong oral & written communication skills
  • Proficient use of the PC (word – excel)
  • Analytical skills – Negotiation skills.
  • High accuracy with shape eye.
Knowledge, Qualifications/ Experience:
  • Sound Knowledge of securities/ documentation.
  • Sound Knowledge of interpreting sanctions/FLAM.
  • Knowledge of the Commercial Register and basic information requirements associated with the ability / right to borrow.
  • An understanding of the bank’s products and services.
  • Working knowledge of the legal and the Bank’s procedures for taking security.
  • Understanding of the Corporate Lending cycle.
  • A detailed knowledge of advances and securities policies of the Bank.
  • Sound knowledge of the legal and the Bank’s procedures for taking securities.
  • Awareness of Central Bank of Egypt guidelines & rules.
  • Awareness of the money laundry and fraud procedures.
  • Sound experience in banking operation.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum two years’ experience in handling securities and / or five years’ experience in operations / Risk and Control departments.
  • Principles of Lending
  • Securities Administration and Perfection
  • Crash Credit Course and / or full Credit Course is a plus.
Preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure & with minimum supervision.
