As Financial Accountant at World Animal Protection, you will ensure that we have strong financial controls in place which are able to produce consolidated, audited and unqualified financial statements and annual reports, to support our international organisation to achieve lasting impact for animals worldwide.
You will support the Global Head of Finance to produce timely, accurate and unqualified consolidated financial statements, process transactions, complete month end activities and administer payroll. This role acts as a business partner to the UK office and the country finance teams.
Following set processes and procedures, you will oversee financial transaction processing and reconciliations within the International Office and have oversight and contact with our global finance teams. You will also act as the operational contact for external Auditors.
In this rewarding and challenging role, you will maintain effective financial controls and support compliance in relation to cash flow management, VAT and HMRC regulations.
Financial Accountant – Requirements
You must have experience in a financial accounting role and ideally within an international charity. Your background will mean you are comfortable monitoring internal financial controls and auditing monthly payroll runs.
You will have an accountancy qualification, ideally CCAB, coupled with a good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, and preferably a detailed understanding of SORP.
You will possess excellent Excel skills as well as an interest in understanding how finance can improve performance through active business partnering.
