The Role
Supporting the delivery of the Wind Turbine supply and installation works package, from contracting to engineering and execution, in collaboration with other technical, commercial and legal areas of the project. The role will include leading on aspects of design/engineering and installation works as directed by package manager. Responsibilities will include:
- Support the Project in the definition of the internal strategy and management plan.
- Active role in all activities related to the lenders technical advisor and WTG issues.
- Support the development of project during the Consent & Pre-FEED stage by providing expertise on WTG related issues.
- TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Responsible for preparing, elaborating and providing all the specifications and technical documentation and contribute in all technical negotiations. Management of Technical documentation, and coordination of inputs with other packages of the project as well with possible 3rd parties as lenders.
- Modelling of all weather related activities for all the different working packages to understand the impact on planning of weather related activities.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provide ongoing and continuous offshore technical support and liaise with other areas of technical department and other departments (Consenting & Environment, Stakeholders, Procurement, H&S, Project Control, etc.) as necessary across the project lifecycle to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- PROJECT CONTROL AND REPORTING: Maintain an effective and systematic planning and control of project offshore works (in what concerns cost, deadline, quality and safety); Ensuring control of the budget, deadline and quality aspect, as well as assessment of contractors/subcontractors involved in the project; Produce monthly project reports outlining progress, budget and safety statistics; Produce other reports as necessary during the course of the project
Person Specification
- Engineering Degree background with post-graduate qualification
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in WTG technology and contracting.
- Experience in the management of technical documentation and management of Q&A lists providing required input.
- Experience of Wind Turbine Generators particularly larger latest generation machines an advantage.
- Programming skills (C++ and Visual Basic) is essential.
