REGIONAL APPLICATIONS MANAGER, ASEAN Job in Singapore

Summary of Position

· The role of the Regional Applications Manager, ASEAN is to provide technical support for the Commercial and Business groups, and is a technology expert in product and application areas.
· The individual helps resolve product and application issues, supports customer trials, provides technical feedback to R&T, and represents Company in the business segment.
· The individual should be well versed in the technology and its application, provide written reports on the various technology applications, provide training to both internal resources as well as customer personnel, and handle other duties as required. This role also includes supervisory responsibility of a team of Field Application Engineers / Technicians.

Job Responsibilities/Activities

· Provides technical and “engineering” support to the Commercial/Business groups to meet customer goals and expectations, assists with field trials of new development activity, resolves product and application issues, and regularly reports information related with customer support activity. Communicates information internally to all business areas, and to customers.
· Organizes and provides timely technical support of process initiatives, customer visit reports, as well as monthly reports on projects and activities.
· Assists in maintaining Product Portfolio’s, assists with the collection of customer data and competitive information, and is a technical resource for customers. Helps achieve and maintain OEM certifications
· Contributes to R&T development and innovation activities, timely completion of project assignments, writing of Research Reports, and resolution of manufacturing issues.
· Trains customer personnel, as well as internal Company personnel, in the use and maintenance of application equipment and field test methodology.
· Lead the Field Application Engineer in the country / region. Responsible in hiring, training, developing, and evaluating technical service engineers / technicians.
· Continuously learns the function of product components, as well as application equipment, and represents Company at Technical Meetings.
· Position requires travel to customer sites for appropriate technical support, as well as global Company sites.
· Technical resource for business and laboratory areas. Individual should be very familiar with the applications, requirements, and certifications of the product technologies, as well as customer equipment.

Candidate Requirement

· Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering would be preferred. In the absence of a Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree in another discipline, a minimum of fifteen years’ experience in product application and technology. Product development experience would be an asset.
· Comfortable in industrial settings, and can communicate with all levels of customer personnel.
· Shows initiative in problem solving and takes a leadership role in the process.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Intimate knowledge of customer applications, aid in design and formulation of new product technology.
· Has excellent interpersonal skills and works well within R&T, cross-functional teams, and Global/Regional teams
