The Role
The Brand Copywriter sits within the Communications team and reports into the Brand & Content Editor and Head of Communications. Responsible for cross-channel messaging and editorial content including, but not limited to; email newsletters, fashion features, Whistles Journal/ bitesize daily content, product descriptions, SEO copy, social copy and internal communications support.

Responsible for cross-channel messaging and editorial content including, but not limited to; email newsletters, fashion features, Whistles Journal/ bitesize daily content, product descriptions, SEO copy, social copy and internal communications support.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, sub-edit and proof-read all creative copy for emails, homepages, press releases, store signage, brand bios and other content slots
- Work with the Content Editor and Editorial Assistant on the conception and execution of creative editorial ideas, from email to content features, plus other digital narratives with an emphasis on daily bitesize content to support the mobile-first strategy of the business
- Work closely with the Digital Marketing team to hone and develop our SEO ranking - becoming our resident expert in search and SEO-friendly content
- Work closely with Graphic Design team to create customer-centric messages for in-store and online
- Conduct research on concepts, editorial stories, language/ tone and emerging trends in fashion, pop culture and the arts
- Develop and improve upon internal messaging across the business, from employee handbooks, new starter inductions, business updates, brand events and hygiene pages across the whistles website seasonally
- Contribute to other projects when required
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience of working for a brand or publication in an editorial or copy-heavy role
- Journalism, English, Fashion Communications degree or similar
- Great interpersonal skills, able to work across different departments, proactive and self-motivated
- Culturally engaged with an excellent knowledge of fashion and the arts
- Flexible approach with the ability to multi-task
- Warm, friendly and used to working in a dynamic team environment
- Strong eye for detail
- Has a real passion and understanding for the Whistles brand and truly represents the spirit and values of the company
