General Manager for Oil & Gas Job at Steel Fabrication Company Ras al Khaimah United Arab Emirates

Responsible for a staff of in excess of 400, and reporting directly to the board of directors, the company has an immediate requirement for a General Manager to charge of the day to day operations of the business in Ras al Khaimah.

Responsibilities

Understand the business and use good judgment to guide it, mobilize people to take action, using creative approaches to motivate others to meet organizational goals.

Develop business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.

Determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas by projecting expected sales volume and profit; analyzing trends and results; establishing strategies; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.

Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Maintain good business relations with current and existing clients, and expand the customer base by identifying potential clients.

Decision-making and problem solving abilities.

Ability to managing, developing, coaching and motivating personnel to achieve team and company goals.

Ability to maintain a solution orientation and inspire the same in team members.

Natural inclination to recognize team members and managers for well done work.

‘Safety first’ and ‘QA/QC’ mindset.

Good understanding of engineering and related technical requirements as well as of construction practices in the Oil & Gas projects.

Qualifications

Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical); MBA is considered a plus.

Minimum 5 years senior managerial experience in the Middle East / GCC. Previous

experience in fabrication shop (prefabrication, modules, skids, piping, pressure vessels, etc.) for Oil & Gas projects is mandatory.

UAE market experience working in the Oil & Gas sector (knowledge of the market and the key players, both Owners / End Users and EPC Contractors). Knowledge of the other GCC markets will be considered as an additional advantage.

Excellent communication skills; fluent in English (both written and spoken); command of Arabic is considered a plus.
