The Role
To take full responsibility for client landscape design projects including the full design process, preparation of all required design stages, their high standard of design and graphic presentation and their submittal and reviews according to required deadlines.
To perform and manage advanced, complex assignments using conventional or innovative techniques for soft and hard landscape architectural works.
To carry out the full design process for public realm sites including parks, public gardens and streetscapes, landmarks, palaces and restricted sites.
To demonstrate excellent people management skills that show highly tuned ability to quickly evaluate project requirements, staff resources and estimated manhours to achieve the necessary end-product and to carry out accordingly.
To be able to effectively maximise and utilise the talents of individual design team members to achieving required deadlines and to encourage team commitment to constantly raising the bar of high standards in design and graphic presentation.
To possess and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of landscape architecture, including knowledge of local hardscape materials, plant materials and planting design integrating ecological sustainability as well as comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and methodologies.
To fully manage the preparation of design and tender documents including specifications, bills of quantities and cost estimates. To be fully accountable for the application of the design process and resultant design documents into working drawings and their ease of installation, workability and functionality as well as long-term durability and sustainability at site.
To possess and demonstrate a positive work ethic, professional enthusiasm and ambition, a warm friendly personality and strong leadership skills.
Skills
Minimum Experience:
10 years of related work experience with preferably comparable position in the GCC/Middle East/Levant for min.
BA/MA in Landscape/Architecture or similar discipline or 3 years of any recognized equivalent combination of professional landscape training and experience.
Previous full design experience on public realm, waterfronts, parks, streetscapes and mixed use projects is essential.
Ability to manage full design process (and speciality suppliers /designers /consultants) with strong experience/grasp of landscape architectural design and project management process.
