What you’ll be doing:
Provide legal advice and consultation to senior management in relation to a variety of commercial legal, licensing and regulatory issues.
Engage external legal advisers as and when necessary.
Review commercial contracts with clients, partners and service providers.
Advise the business in relation to employment, property and intellectual property issues.
Advise the business in relation to privacy issues and taking the role of dedicated Privacy Officer.
Manage legal and business risks and reporting regularly to the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary based in Sydney, Australia.
Actively collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of OFX’s strategic, business and operational plans.
Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of OFX at all times, including the promotion of OFX values.
What you’ll bring:
Qualifications
Current practicing certificate.
Superior academic credentials from a nationally-recognised law school.
Knowledge, skills, experience
A minimum of 12 years PQE.
Experience as a lawyer in a major law firm and/or in-house.
Experience in dealing with financial services regulators desirable but not mandatory.
Experience in drafting commercial contracts and providing general commercial legal advice.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop expertise in new or unfamiliar areas of law.
