As the Product Innovation Manager you will bring an understanding of service opportunities to the DC business, focused on delivering service products in line with the group services strategy & D2C requirements. Using your insight and knowledge into the service market, your creative and technical skills, operational experience and product knowledge, you will be responsible for creating, designing, planning and delivering new service solutions, giving a high attention of detail to all types of products and key category segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a selection of services that cater to the specific channels the Product innovation team supply – direct to consumer & UK Retail
- Act as the proposition expert for all cross functional activity required to deliver the Product innovation strategy. Challenging the status-quo of current service offering, developing innovative customer and operational journeys inside and outside the existing infrastructure
- Understand the technical / specialist electrical / retail market and where it’s going, leveraging the latest technologies and ideas to create new or enhanced services, to bring new commercial opportunities to the business.
- Understand in detail the non-insurance based service business to identify the needs of the retailer & consumer to provide innovative service solutions.
- Influence a services portfolio to support the future development roadmap.
- Look at current service portfolio and range to identify key improvements from margin growth to cost-saving areas and ways to improve wholesale services across all channels.
- Produce detailed blueprints to support the proposition creation and delivery process, following the portfolio and range development process and new product development process.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritising development, manage other project managers in a highly agile / structured environment, to achieve fast-paced delivery of each stage of the New Product Development process.
Skills & Experience:
- Good organisational and project management skills, with an understanding of creating and owning project plans and delivery documentation.
- Ability to understand programming language concepts, structure and syntax. (desirable)
- Deep understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Visio and Project
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills -being a natural communicator and influencing people is an integral part of your current role
- Expert knowledge of wire framing, building business cases and writing user stories, a clear understanding of product "best practice”
- Understanding of exciting customer experiences
- A good balance between technical understanding and commercial acumen - bridging the gap between tech and non-tech
- Advanced knowledge of the retail and technology market
