Job / Role Purpose
Data Integration Specialist is responsible for designing integration architectures, including development, runtime, operations, message, and event-driven architectures. Integration Specialist collaborates with technology brokers and external providers to understand new cloud services and integration technologies and their implications for the organization. The role partners with technical teams and senior architects to analyze technical and non-technical requirements to eventually build cloud-based solutions.
Major duties and responsibilities
- Integration Specialist is responsible for integrating new cloud services applications and infrastructure into KPMG’s portfolio of internal systems and existing cloud services including, but not limited to Oracle Fusion SaaS, Oracle Fusion PaaS, Microsoft CRM Dynamics, and other, satellite applications
- Integration Specialist will analyze all business requirements and maintain the architecture of business systems and documents, while also working with end-users to optimize integration and user-experience
- Orchestrate and improve efficiency of data flow performance for master data management
- Define and implement data security and roles within data integration routines
- Design integration programs and prepare functional and technical specification documents for integration platforms
- Ensure improvement of all architectural processes within time frame and provide training to internal development team to maintain project deliverables and reduce costs
- Maintain an efficient technical environment for all client services and document all architectural plans and provide support to all business and assemble all system components.
- Collaborates with enterprise architects and information architects to ensure cloud services align to roadmaps and understand the effect on the organization’s information architecture
- Liaises with external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of new cloud applications, cloud-based infrastructure, and other cloud services with existing IT systems
- Implementation and optimization of ETL processes
- Analyze system performance of current ETL processes
- Monitoring regular data loads
- Defining potential improvements in DI area
While not a direct people manager, he/she manages data integration processes and applications.
Extent of work
Activities for the role will be performed in collaboration with Finance users, Business Unit Administrators, IT Security and IT team. The role may include managing external teams such as vendors, service providers, certifications bodies, as well as with collaborators from remote KPMG offices such as Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Riyadh and Global. Regular reporting weekly/monthly/quarterly performance review and feedback will be to DWH/BI Manager
Deliverables
- System integration projects executed according to project plan
- System integration projects executed as per Global ITS standards
- Performance standards at o service level agreements set within KPMG
- Ensure 100% compliance with IT security and audit recommendations prior to projects going live
- Hands-on experience in the design, deployment, and management of large-scale services
- Extensive knowledge of the Oracle Data Integration (ODI), PL SQL, Azure and writing procedures
- Familiarity with architecture, code, testing, and deploy API/web service processes
- Broad knowledge of technology options, technology platforms, design techniques, and approaches across the app life cycle phases to design an integrated solution to address business requirements
- Time management skills to deliver assigned work on schedule and provide regular status reports to the project and team managers
- Excellent grasp and experience of data integration packages
- Well-versed in unit testing, systems testing and continuous integration, including extensive experience with standard development environments required to develop, validate and test
- Understands security and identifies encryption and controls needed to protect information
- Deep understanding of following technologies: PL/SQL, MSSQL, Stored Procedures, XML / XSL/XSLT, JSON, Web Services (SOAP and REST)
- Experience building and testing products built in Oracle Business Intelligence stack (OIC, OBI, and ODI), as well as Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (SSRS, SSAS and SSIS)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective listening skills
- Undergraduate degree in Computer science / Engineering
- Demonstrated professional experience (5+ years) with leading technology organizations and IT transformational initiatives
