As part of the UK’s largest independent private healthcare group The BMI Thornbury Hospital provides an excellent location to further develop or consolidate your clinical career. The hospital has 77 beds, four theatres, an endoscopy suite, a high dependency unit and an intensive care unit, with specialist services also including Cardiology, a Gamma Knife Centre, a Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic and The Thornbury Cancer Care Unit.
The Nurse Manager will act as the overall lead for a number of different departments (including Wards) and will provide clinical direction and leadership for the nursing team. They will support the Director of Clinical Services in the delivery of the clinical governance framework and nursing strategy across the hospital.
The Nurse Manager will ensure nursing standards across the hospital are in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. They will take full responsibility for all aspects of management for their nursing teams and ensure that the highest standards of patient care are maintained across all departments whilst monitoring and managing departmental budgets.
We know this will be a demanding, yet thoroughly rewarding role, and we are therefore looking for a proven Senior Nurse who has a successful background in clinical management and is motivated and driven to deliver high standards of 24 hour clinical service and patient care across multiple departments. You will be a dynamic, self- motivated clinical leader who can inspire passion in those delivering care. It is essential that you possess both strong leadership and managerial skills and are willing to undertake non-patient facing duties as an integral part of the role.
As the role forms part of the hospital’s senior leadership team you will also have the opportunity to be involved and lead on a number of projects. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate can proactively manage and drive change in a sometimes challenging culture.
To be considered you need to be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration, and significant clinical management experience at a senior level in an acute care setting. You will be able to effectively develop your clinical staff, teams, departments and services whilst driving commercial performance.
