An exciting opportunity for a newly qualified clinical geneticist with a permanent full time position available in the Monash Genetics Service. The Monash Genetics Service comprises both the General Genetics Service and the Familial Cancer Centre. The successful applicant will work mainly in our General Genetics Service but also support the Familial Cancer Service as part of our experienced multidisciplinary team. You will provide a clinical genetics consultant service to outpatients and inpatients in the Monash Health network hospitals.
The General Genetics Service comprises a professional, innovative and friendly team providing high quality specialty general genetics (prenatal, reproductive, paediatric and adult) services based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton. Development of many multidisciplinary and subspecialist genetics clinics underpins the importance of Monash Genetics to the delivery of high quality patient care within the Monash Health network. Driving innovation and expansion to provide new clinics and services will be a key requirement of the role. The Familial Cancer Centre provides high quality cancer genetics services and conducts regular clinics at Clayton, Moorabbin, Frankston, Moe and the Alfred.
The role of genomics is considered vitally important in the future of the service and the incumbent will have the experience in this dynamic area to further help develop and promote genomics at Monash Health.
The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership through supervision of junior colleagues, and genetic counsellors, and more widely by supporting colleagues in other disciplines and engaging in academic, research and educational activities.
