The British Council Pakistan is recruiting for an Talent Acquisition & Development Officer - Venue Staff Unit, Examinations based in Lahore.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The effective management of venue staff is the key to the success of the British Council’s examinations operation, which is a very important part of the British Council’s work in Pakistan. This post will implement and support all key processes related to venue staff management and play a key role in ensuring that global quality standards are maintained.
This post is part of the Venue Staff Unit which manages the recruitment, training and development, scheduling and payments of venue staff who work for the British Council’s Examinations Services Department. As a Talent Acquisition & Development Officer in the Venue Staff Unit, you will work closely with Venue Staff Management and Examinations Operations teams around the country to successfully manage required number of invigilators in the right venue at the right time. You will be responsible for the venue staff recruitment and contracting; performance monitoring and evaluation; training and development to ensure the quality of invigilators on board. Your role will be to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that venue staff receives high levels of customer service. You will also be closely working with external vendors who are outsourced various tasks of the process. This role requires high responsibility with respect to record management in your region.

The examinations department in Pakistan is one of the largest in the British Council’s global network.
Our work in examinations is central to the overall impact of the British Council in Pakistan. Many thousands of young people take school, professional and English language examinations with us each year.
The numbers of candidates taking examinations with the British Council is expected to grow significantly over the coming years.
Annually we work with more than 3000 invigilators who ensure that the examinations are delivered securely, according to British Council and exam board standards. The quality of venue staff and the way they are managed is key to the success of the British Council’s examinations operation
Team Structure ·
This post is part of the Venue Staff Unit. There are three Pay Band 4 positions, one each in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore and two Pay Band 6 Venue Staff Unit Managers, based in Islamabad and Lahore.
The Venue Staff Unit Managers report to the Director, Planning & Performance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN DUTIES ·
Ensure end-to-end in-house venue staff recruitment drive including advertising for invigilation services, longlisting and shortlisting of potential profiles suitable for the role, planning and conducting face to face interviews under the supervision of Exams Services Managers.
Ensure required quality of venue staff is recruited keeping a balance of gender ratio and compliance to British Council policies and guidelines.
Responsible to bring on board sufficient venue staff for all exam products
Carry out all logistical tasks related to the recruitment exercise in order to ensure required numbers of invigilators are brought on board in all the cities of Pakistan.
Close coordination with external stakeholders for venue staff contracting and data management in your respective region.
Responsible for the training and development of the venue staff pool in close coordination with the exams operations team.
Ensure performance evaluation is filled for all venue staff and shared with venue staff as per agreed timelines, having a focus on the continuous performance management to enhance venue staff quality.
Responsible for venue staff data management and all required mandatory documents are complete and in accordance to compliance and audit perspective.
Regular effective communication with venue staff to address their concerns with respect to training and development to enhance quality of existing venue staff pool.
Track, analyse and report on venue staff performance to Exams Services Managers on quarterly basis.
