Major Project Lead Job in London United Kingdom

As Major Project Lead for a New Campus for a global tech client, you will have overall delivery responsibility for this build-to-suit, single building over 36,000m2 campus in the Israel. The S&C of the building is currently under construction by a developer, with the fit-out in design. The campus will open in late 2020.
There is an external project management team who run the project on a day-to-day basis, and the Project Lead fulfils a multi-faceted role spanning client/stakeholder management, commercial and schedule oversight, setting the strategic direction of the project management team and other related senior tasks linked to the successful delivery of the project.
Frequent travel to the area in question, on a monthly basis, is expected and as such the candidate shall be willing to engage in regular travel, typically spanning a few nights away in duration.
As part of the EMEA PDM team, the candidate will likely also manage several multiple smaller (sub $5m) projects as part of the over-arching the Programme of work. Like with the campus, the candidate will be accountable for overall success of project delivery (from initial project strategy including the review of Real Estate Options, through design, procurement, construction oversight and project close out). This role will oversee ongoing projects within region and help initiate new projects in support of our client’s business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities 

 Client/Stakeholder Management: Act as a principal decision maker on the campus, working with the other senior client representatives into setting the direction of the project. Work across multiple time zones and cultures bringing in stakeholder inputs in a timely manner and in line with deliverables and deadlines.

§ Act as Chair and Secretariat of the Steering Committee (business leadership team representatives, overall decision making of the project) and Workplace Council (staff employee representatives). Comfortable in explaining concepts and justifying planned actions to senior/executive level clients.
§ Act as a critical friend/trusted advisor to the client and project management team, providing input on major project decisions – procurement, design, construction.
§ Responsible for selecting and managing Tier 1 partners and aligning success of Tier 1 partners with the Integrator success criteria, including the on-boarding from the approved stable of Tier 1 suppliers.
§ Responsible for the creation and/or co-development of the Project Charter and subsequent Project Expenditure Request (PER) – including lease commitments, construction budgeting & schedule.
§ Responsible for the overall management of the project process, including development of the project brief, cost planning, procurement of Tier 2 suppliers and products and production of associated contract documentation.
§ Provide oversight and management accountability for the delivery of Project scope, schedule, and budget in accordance with approved PERs.
§ Develop annual resourcing strategy for planned projects and follow through with quarterly updates.
§ Promote efficient and consistent client communication.
§ Provide guidelines (playbook) for project delivery to Tier 1 partners and ensuring design standards are applied by Tier 1 PM firms
§ Manage performance of Tier 1 PM firms including participation in quarterly reviews
§ Maintain governance against our clients process and procedures including CBRE Playbook at all times
§ Perform duties in line with the ‘Statement of Work for Integrator Services’/Master Services Agreement
§ Collect and report KPI and benchmark data.
§ Provide oversight for Change Management activities in region.
§ Propose & seek approval for process improvement from Global Workplace Strategy team and provide feedback.
§ Interface and collaborate with the Global Finance Group to consolidate the CapEx and OpEx budgets for planned transactions and projects in region.
§ Interface with client’s strategy, TM, FM and Lease Admin teams.
§ Develop and operationalize innovations and improvement measures to contribute to the overall programme.
§ Proportional input to the over-arching savings target for the Account
§ Other ad hoc duties as required
§ The role does involve travel across EMEA


ESSENTIAL SKILLS include the following:
§ Highly accountable
§ Client side major project management experience in challenging environments – greater than $25m
§ Experience with involvement on complex major corporate projects, with an occupier focus spanning both shell and core and fit-out.
§ Understanding of real estate service lines, including transaction management, project management and facilities management.
§ Understanding of real estate support functions, including Sourcing, Finance, HR and Technology.
§ Strong communication, facilitation and mediation skills
§ Strong analytical and organizational skills
§ Leadership capabilities
§ Client relationship management skills
§ Ability to manage multiple deadlines and teams concurrently.
§ Corporate Organisational Change Management experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Management and leadership of vendors inc. Architect, Engineers, Contractors etc… essential
§ Line Management of internal team resources is preferred but not essential

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
§ Degree in relevant subject
§ Previous experience of working within the technology sector
§ Significant experience within project or program management (min 5 years post graduate experience), inclusive of in major project realm (greater than $25m)
§ Corporate occupier experience
§ Previous experience of working within Global account with a US based/led team
§ Service provider management
§ Experience from within a client organization; either as an employee or secondee.
§ International work experience in EMEA and/ or beyond
§ Experience with involvement on complex corporate projects
§ Experience of being involved in pitching to prospective clients
