Inspection Engineer Job in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates

To participate in the inspection and testing of all static equipment of process plants, storage and marine facilities as well as pipeline systems. To carry out corrosion control activities and contribute to equipment conditioning monitoring. 
Main Work Performed and Responsibilities:
  • Inspects plant process equipment, lifting equipment, maintenance equipment, raw metallic materials received in warehouse etc. to determine compliance with standards, codes and specifications.
  • Specifies and witnesses pressure tests on equipment after repair and during start-up such as hydrostatic and pneumatic tests to certify gas cylinders, analyze and report on the inspection observations.
  • Participates in non-destructive testing of equipment and piping and reviews the preliminary interpretations.
  • Checks condition of safety relief valves, prescribes repairs as needed, and witnesses relief pressure setting. Conducts corrosion investigation and monitoring and recommends preventive measures.
  • Assists in reviewing material and design requirements for new projects and modifications, and prepares scope of work for technical bids for minor inspection projects under senior’s guidance.
  • Monitors cathodic protection system of metallic structures and pipelines, develops painting/coating requirements for these and conducts quality checks on the completed jobs.
  • Prepares turnaround work lists, determines testing requirements, prepares welding qualification procedure and assists in establishing inspection standards and procedures.
  • Guides, directs, trains and motivates subordinates and trainees to perform to their best potential and ensures adherence of HSE guidelines by all.
  • Maintains data in the computerized system and produces regular reports and management information data.
