Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Projects Job in Dubai United Arab Emirates

This is a role with huge growth potential and will offer diverse, interesting work, both in the region and further afield. A straight forward, friendly and pragmatic approach is a must, as is the ability to work independently and lead as required.

Education and Qualification:
  • LLB or equivalent Degree in Law from a recognised University
  • Admitted to practice law in a common law jurisdiction, preferably England & Wales or Australia

Skills & Experience:
  • Top-tier international private practice training
  • 4 - 8 years of international commercial Projects experience, gained either within a top tier law firm or in similar in house position
  • Currently a Mid or Senior Associate within an international law firm, or an in house Counsel within a corporate
  • Emerging markets experience, ideally in the Middle East, Africa or South East Asia
  • Extensive experience in project documentation including offtake or concession type agreements, EPC contracts and O&M agreements
  • Experience, or an active interest, in the ‘clean’ energy industry
  • Experience of managing external counsel in both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Commercially minded with a hands-on approach
  • Team oriented with the ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the business. Interest in mentoring and developing more junior members of the team.
  • Experience and understanding of corporate governance and compliance matters
