A newly created role reporting to the Head, Research and Governance Platforms, the Manager of Research Services, will oversee four laboratory teams including analytical equipment teams and a bio-resources centre. The successful applicant will have a breadth of experience in clinical research, but more importantly will be able to implement sustainable and strategic business plans that will increase the amount and quality of services currently provided by the institute.
The Manager, Research Services will exhibit passion, but be driven by outcomes. With key strengths in understanding and writing research reports, clinical administrative functions, OHS and animal ethics they will be able to understand and support their teams, while working collaboratively with the senior leadership team to improve policies and structures in place.
Tasks will include;
• Developing a shared model across each division that outlines standard pricing, policies, and KPI’s.
• Manage a team of 12, with 4 direct reports, providing opportunities for development and creating a culture of high performance and unity
• Implement changes that will result in improvements to safety, compliance and utilisation of facilities
• Promote new and existing services provided by the institute by understanding customer demands and communicating to internal and external stakeholders
This is a fulltime permanent role with an immediate start for the right applicant, business hours expected 9am-5pm weekdays, with reasonable overtime as required. Work for a cause, and receive tax benefits!
Desirable applicants will possess:
• A tertiary level qualification in health/medical science
• Experience in delivery of Clinical Research Services
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in clinical research, especially animal ethics
• Previous senior management experience of a high performing team
• Financial and commercial business acumen
• Demonstrated ability in change management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
