Primarily responsible for managing the clearance of all UK Schools third party content (text, images, video, audio etc. as required) via Pearson’s preferred vendor, you’ll have strong project/vendor manager skills and the ability to negotiate multiple priorities and stakeholder relationships within a fast paced, commercial environment. You’ll be accountable for ensuring that all third party assets are cleared in a timely and cost effective way according to Pearson’s copyright standards.
Rights experience is an advantage but candidates with a strong track record in publishing project management/vendor management who would like to build on their rights and permissions knowledge should also apply.

- Manage our preferred vendor to ensure text, photo, and video rights are cleared on time and to schedule for the UK Schools content teams. Experience of setting vendor KPIs would be an advantage.
- Support the UK Schools content teams and authors with rights and permissions cost planning, asset selection, and scheduling to ensure rights are cleared successfully for print and digital products.
- Be confident about making risk assessments and managing conversations with internal stakeholders.
- Drive global rights strategies within UK Schools and collaborate with Global Rights and Permissions team when required
- Use Pearson’s Rights Management System/s for reviewing, recording, tracking and updating third party rights data; experience of Oracle based invoice systems an advantage.
- Report monthly on all projects, indicating key metrics, issues, blockers and successes.
- Help develop Pearson Rights and Permissions policies on best practice for using third-party content as well as testing that new policies are practical
- Support the testing and implementation of new R&P processes and/or systems
- Experience working within an educational publisher or learning solutions style equivalent or contracts role. Knowledge of rights and permissions management an advantage.
- Fluent project/vendor management skills
- Undergraduate degree or requisite experience, and / or a combination of education, professional training and experience
- Strong language, grammar, and communication skills. Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Database expertise - input, reporting, tracking and auditing
- IT skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Mail, Google Hangout and general office equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills, including negotiation skills and writing report summaries
